    Dayton, Ohio - April 5, 2016 - The Dayton Power and Light Company (DP&L), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), has successfully restored power to 42,000 customers who lost power this weekend due to high winds that caused extensive damage to power lines and equipment. DP&L replaced more than 80 poles and 15 transformers.

    DP&L crews responded to more than 1,600 separate job sites and restored 100% of our customers by late Monday night. Crews will continue working through mid-week inspecting and repairing damage caused by the winds, which reached gusts of more than 60 miles per hour in parts of our service territory.

    DP&L had more than 600 people working on storm restoration, including additional crews called in from Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia and other parts of Ohio. Our crews worked 24 hours a day since the storm hit to repair damage to equipment, replace poles and connect downed lines.

    Safety is DP&L's top priority. DP&L continues to work 24/7 to assure safe and reliable power to customers. During outages, we ask the public to think about safety first - stay away from downed lines and always assume lines are live.
