Dayton Power & Light Company Awarded Grants Totaling $2.4 Million to Local Organizations in 2017

Dayton Power & Light Company Awarded Grants Totaling $2.4 Million to Local Organizations in 2017

The Dayton Power and Light Company awarded one hundred twenty-three (123) Corporate and Foundation grants to education, cultural, arts, human services, community and environmental organizations in 2017 totaling $2.4 million.

In November, DP&L was deeply honored to be the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Large Corporation Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Dayton Region Chapter. This prestigious award reflects the DP&L values which includes striving for excellence, acting with integrity and moving with agility all while focusing on safety and enjoying the work we do. DP&L firmly believes that we share responsibility for the future of our community. We do this through grants, volunteerism and community partnerships.

"For more than 100 years, DP&L has been lighting the way for our region with the mission of improving lives by providing safe, reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions," said DP&L President and CEO Tom Raga. "With these grants, we are improving lives and powering change in the Dayton Region which is the best contribution we can make to the communities we call home."

The 2017 grants include thirteen Signature Grants, a program the DP&L Foundation Board of Trustees initiated in 2013 to support new or innovative initiatives by our community partners. The Signature Grants, ranging from $50,000 to $100,000, will be announced in the first quarter of 2018.

Since its founding in 1985, The Dayton Power and Light Company Foundation, along with DP&L, have awarded over $54 million to highly regarded organizations that support our mission to improve lives.
