AES Ohio, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), is partnering with local community organizations to transform downtown Dayton with vibrant blue and orange lights. The citywide illumination marks the start of the NCAA Men’s Division I First Four, warmly welcoming participating teams, NCAA staff, visitors, media, and basketball fans. This initiative promotes unity and excitement across the region and nationally, highlighting the city’s enduring community spirit and support for collegiate athletics.
Aligning with the University of Dayton’s environmental sustainability goals, AES Ohio will provide renewable energy credits (RECs) and apply them toward incremental energy usage at the University of Dayton Arena facilities for pre-game events, practices and First Four games.
“AES Ohio is proud to serve its role as energy partner for the First Four games, while celebrating the enthusiasm of college basketball fans throughout the Dayton region and beyond,” said Tom Raga, AES Ohio President. “Since 2012, we have worked alongside local organizers to create a welcoming experience for attendees and promoting collaboration and unity across the region.”
AES Ohio's initiatives demonstrate our strong commitment to community engagement, infrastructure investment, economic growth, and continued dedication to serving customers now and in the future. In 2026, Dayton serves as the site for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball First Four, while Indianapolis will host the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Final Four. AES Ohio and AES Indiana, both subsidiaries of The AES Corporation, continue to provide renewable energy credits supporting championship practices and games.
