Sinclair Community College Welcomes New Trustee to its Board

Dayton, OH --- Sinclair Community College is pleased to welcome Tom Raga as the newest member to its Board of Trustees. Governor Mike DeWine appointed Mr. Raga (Warren Co.), President of AES Ohio, to serve on the Sinclair Community College Board of Trustees effective August 1, 2025, for a term ending July 9, 2030.

“We are excited to welcome Tom Raga to our Board of Trustees,” said Dr. Steve Johnson, President & CEO at Sinclair Community College. “Tom’s leadership, commitment to strategic growth, and focus on our region’s educational needs will be crucial in shaping the future of Sinclair.”

Mr. Raga joined AES in 2010 and is a member of the company’s Board of Directors, as well as part of the AES US Utilities leadership team. Tom is the strategic force behind AES Ohio’s development and is a long-time community champion, having served in several senior leadership positions at AES, including leading the transformation of AES Ohio from a vertically integrated utility to an electric transmission and distribution company. Before his current role, Tom gained experience as Vice President of AES US Utilities, where he directed RTO and government affairs for its operating companies in Ohio and Indiana.

Mr. Raga’s commitment to community service and fostering economic growth extends beyond his professional roles. Tom is a member of several boards including the Dayton Development Coalition, Dayton Business Committee, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Energy Association, and the Capital Square Foundation.

A Southwest Ohio native, Mr. Raga graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
