AES Ohio invests in the long-term sustainability of the Miami Valley.
Right Tree, Right Place aims to support the environment and beautification of our neighborhoods and communities while educating customers about the importance of planting smart with utilities in mind.
Since 2015, AES Ohio has made a significant impact on the tree canopy in the Miami Valley through a variety of community outreach initiatives, not only by donating trees but also funding the removal of trees that pose a risk to our electrical system.
Tree City USA grants
By partnering with Tree City USA communities in our area, AES Ohio has been successful in funding the removal of dangerous trees while investing in beautification projects and planting utility-friendly trees. AES Ohio has awarded $275,000 in grants to seven local communities: Bellefontaine, Centerville, Coldwater, Marysville, Miamisburg, Sidney and Vandalia.
In partnership with Operation 1000 Cherry Trees, AES Ohio has funded the planting of 200 ornamental cherry trees in neighborhoods throughout Dayton.
AES Ohio cherry blossom trail
The AES Ohio cherry blossom trail connects two historic and popular landmarks in downtown Dayton, the Dayton Art Institute and Carillon Historical Park, with hundreds of cherry trees. The project was a partnership between the City of Dayton, Operation 1000 Cherry Tree Project and AES Ohio.
