On Sunday, June 18, 2023, a planned outage is scheduled, impacting all Jeffersonville area customers from 10:00 PM until 1:00 AM EDT.
To ensure continued reliable operations for new and existing customers, AES Ohio is upgrading the electric infrastructure in Jeffersonville and surrounding communities to support growth and future electric demand taking place in this developing area. Approximately 3,000 customers will experience the three-hour outage.
For crews to safely complete the work, the transmission line serving the Jeffersonville area will be de-energized.
AES Ohio is preparing and completing as much of the work as possible in advance of the outage to minimize disruption and ensure a smooth transition. AES Ohio is working closely with city and county officials, and fire and police departments during this planned outage.
In the event the planned outage is canceled, all customers will be notified.
Prior to the planned outage

Jeffersonville area improvements project
The Jeffersonville area improvements project is part of the upgrades to the electric system in this area needed to ensure continued reliable operations for new and existing customers while providing capacity to large load growth taking place in this developing area near Jeffersonville, Ohio. The improvement project involves building approximately 13 miles of new transmission lines, two new transmission substations and relocating an existing distribution substation.
